Introducing Crafty Mart Board Secretary, Jamie Winebrenner!
GET TO KNOW THE CRAFTY MART TEAM: BOARD SECRETARY JAMIE WINEBRENNER!
I am excited to accept Brit's invitation to join the board in the Secretary position! As a local creative myself, I believe in the mission of Crafty Mart and the support that the organization offers to Akron-area artists and entrepreneurs. My parents are both music teachers, and I grew up with an appreciation for everything in the arts. I briefly considered a business degree before switching to graphic design at the University of Akron and I recently completed a Masters degree from Arizona State University. I work as a graphic designer for a magazine publishing company and freelance in design and social media management. I also co-own and design for Inspired Paper Co., an invitation and paper goods company.
My husband and I recently moved to Medina from Cuyahoga Falls with our dog Roxy and our two-month old daughter Zoey. We like to spend our weekends exploring Akron and Medina, heading to the metroparks and getting to know our new neighborhood. I've practiced yoga for several years and I'm always on the hunt for a good chai tea. I also love Cleveland sports and beating my husband in our fantasy football league.
Prior to joining the Crafty Mart board, I served as the Secretary and eventually the President of the Cleveland chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design. As president, I was responsible for directing and developing the overall strategy for the chapter, including educational, networking and professional development activities, leading the board and developing relationships with community partners. I'm looking forward to using my non-profit skills in the Akron community, and I can't wait to see where Crafty Mart is headed!
Thanks, Jamie! We're excited to have you on board!
