Just a quick wrap-up of our event this past weekend. On Sat. & Sun. Nov. 26-27th, we hosted 86 artists & makers across three locations in downtown Akron. The best part was that we saw 2,500 people come to shop and experience all the fun! We pulled some photos from the two-day event to show you what was going on.
Crafty Mart entered a vehicle in the Welcome Santa parade up Main Street in downtown Akron on Saturday morning. We painted green wreaths and boughs on the VW camper using hand prints--get it, handmade wreaths! Okay, it was all for fun and to help promote our weekend-long event. Did you wave at our vehicle in the parade?
We had music spinning in Musica and the Akron Art Museum--and the football game on the radio at Summit Artspace! Food was also available in all three locations, featuring Urban Eats at Musica (did you try that Thanksgiving wrap?), the Q Café at the Art Museum, and Bomba Tacos and Western Fruit Basket at Summit Artspace. Did you get a coffee, beer, Bloody Mary or a NORKA soda too? We also had participants filling all five workshops.
But Crafty Mart wouldn't be a success without the wonderful people of Akron who turn out to support their local arts and culture community. Thank YOU Akron for shopping small businesses and handmade!
If you missed out on this past weekend--or you're looking for MORE handmade shopping before the holidays, please come to Cottage Mart--the next three weekends in December--and Crafty Mart @ Goodyear, our last show of the year: Friday, Dec. 23rd.
