We are so pumped about our biggest, raddest event of the year! So much so that we put together this list of 8 ways to take full advantage of The 8th Annual Crafty Mart! (See what we did there?)

1. GET THERE EARLY!

This year, we are offering early bird access tickets! For a $7 ticket, you can beat the crowd at which ever venue you chose to start shopping. You’re also guaranteed a Small Business Saturday canvas shopping bag courtesy of American Express full of coupons and swag from local businesses, you’ll get a free cup of coffee and a free drink from the Crafty Mart bar! (Choose from a beer, a Bloody Mary or a NORKA soda.)

You can purchase tickets here, and there will be a limited amount available at the door if they don’t sell out first!

2. VISIT ALL THREE VENUES.

Crafty Mart is once again taking place at three different venues: Musica, the Akron Art Museum, and Summit Artspace-- all within three blocks downtown!

The Akron Art Museum is offering FREE admission both Saturday and Sunday just for Crafty Mart weekend! While you're doing your shopping, make sure to stop in the galleries. Jimmy Kuehnle’s Wiggle, Jiggle, Giggle just opened, which is an engaging experience for both adults and young people no matter what their art education background is.

3. WIN STUFF!

If you get a punch from each location on the front of your program (see below) and turn it in at our Raffle Table on the 3rd floor of Summit Artspace before you leave, you will get a chance to win one of 25+ gift baskets from our amazing venues plus other local establishments. You can also purchase tickets for the raffle to up your odds of winning!

4. MAKE SOMETHING.

In the DIY spirit of Crafty Mart, why not make a holiday gift for a loved one? If you aren't already signed up to take a workshop, there are a few still available, including one of smARTStudio's famous portrait-painting parties, and a kid-friendly tie dye workshop where you can DROP YOUR KIDS OFF WHILE YOU SHOP, which is a gift for both parents and kids!

Click here to see all the classes still available.

5. SHOP!

One of the coolest things about shopping at Crafty Mart is that you can purchase items directly from the people who make them. Have you been following our vendor spotlight posts on our blog? You can browse through them here.

And here is a complete list of our vendors and which venue you can find them in so that you can make your list.

6. EAT!

Urban Eats at Musica will be serving up their famous pizzas and wraps all throughout the event!

At the Akron Art Museum, the Q Cafe will be open both days! They serve snacks, sandwiches, coffee, and a fine selection of local craft beers on draft.

At Summit Artspace, Bomba will be serving up tacos. Up there we will also be selling craft beer, and our signature Bloody Mary bar.

While you're downtown, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from! Some of our favorites are Neuvo Modern MexicanCrave, or The Lockview.

7. MAKE A DAY OF IT!

Why not spend the whole day enjoying our beautiful downtown?

If you need a break from shopping, go see a film! Right in the Crafty Mart footprint is Akron's only indie cinema, The Nightlight. They are located on High Street, just two doors down from We Gallery and this weekend in the spirit of the holidays, they are having a screening of A Christmas Story along with a Trivia session! To see showtimes, click here. There's only 50 seats in the theater, so you might want to buy tickets ahead of time!

The Northside District is hopping with new storefronts like the adorable NOTO North boutique and 43 Furance Street Gallery.

The Welcome Santa Parade starts at 11am at Lock 3 Park on Saturday, or you can plan to enjoy Ice Skating at Lock 3 after visiting Crafty Mart!

8. STAY FOR A SHOW

Downtown Akron is a great place to see live music. Saturday night, head over to Jilly's Music Room just over in the Northside District to see Byke, a psych rock/garage band.

On Saturday Night, Midwest trumpet sensation and Akron Native will be performing with local favorites Theron Brown, Lucas Kadish, Mike Forfia, Zaire Darden at Blu Jazz+.

Maybe you’re more of a performance type than a music type? Still got you covered. Wandering Aesthetics is hosting their signature award-winning rapid fire performance event, The Electric Pressure Cooker Cabaret at None Too Fragile Theatre inside Pub Bricco in the Valley.

We can't wait to see everyone this weekend! For more information, check out our Facebook event and make sure to RSVP!
