We're excited to bring you a series of profiles to introduce you to a few of our artisans coming to the 8th Annual Crafty Mart Holiday Show on Saturday and Sunday, November 26th-27th.  This is just one in a series of Vendor Spotlights in which we let those who will be sharing their wares shine a light on what it is they do.  The following profile is Matt of Bacon's Superior Beard Care and his response to a mini-questionnaire.

1). What's your name and what is it that you make?

My Name is Matt Bacon, and I make all-natural Beard Oil & Mustache Wax, and supply all the fixings for a truly Superior Beard such as our natural Hardwood Beard Combs and more.

2). How did you acquire the unique skill set to do what it is you do?

When I first decided to grow a beard several years ago, I ran face-first into ALL the common beard struggles - face dandruff, itchy cheeks, and scratchy hair that my wife was NOT fond of.

I figured there's all sorts of hair products that girls use on their hair, there's GOT to be something out there I can use to take care of my beard. After a couple weeks of reading up on hair tonics and scalp treatments, I found that a very specific blend of Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil, Babassu Oil, Hemp Seed Oil, and Safflower Oil, would do what I wanted: stop the itching, stop the dandruff, and soften the hairs. I took a couple days playing with essential oils and developed the Bacon's Superior signature scent using lavender, tea tree, and cedar wood. I added it to my beard oil recipe, and not only was I happy with it, within a week of using it on my beard, my wife was ecstatic with how soft my beard was - and it smelled great, and my face wasn't itching or "snowing" anymore!

Before long, I was showing my buddies at work and giving them samples and they also loved the results. With a little encouragement, I added a mustache wax and some other Beard Care products and started up Bacon's Superior Beard Care!

3).  What is your best seller?

The 1oz. Beard Oil - the "starter" bottle, very affordable but will still last a good while since only several drops are needed to be used each day.

4).  How long have you been vending? Have you done a Crafty Mart show before?

I've been vending since late 2014. Crafty Mart pop-up Art Walk shows were my first vending experiences and I did the 2015 Crafty Mart Holiday show. Meeting new people and talking with them about Beard Care is fun and it has been so encouraging to keep me going when I meet someone in the same situation I was: they've been trying to grow their beard but they never knew how easy a little beard oil each day could have made it, and I'm able to show them exactly what to do to make their beard work for them and how easy it is to stop the itches and scratchiness.

5).  The Beatles or The Rolling Stones?

The Rolling Stones have done some great shows and Keith's riffs are great, but I'm all about throwing out the rules and making something new without looking at what others are doing first, and nobody was more consistently groundbreaking than The Beatles!

Thank you for answering our questions, Matt. And, thanks for coming to the 8th Annual Crafty Mart Holiday Show. We'll see everyone on Sat. & Sun. Nov. 26th-27th at Musica, Akron Art Museum, and Summit Artspace.  You'll be able to find Bacon's Superior Beard Care at Musica.
