Get to Know the Crafty Mart Team: Administrative and Programming Intern Marissa McClellan

Hey, Hi, Hello! My name is Marissa McClellan and I am so excited to be Crafty Mart's new intern!

I am a second year graduate student at the University of Akron, studying Arts Administration. I am honored and privileged to put my administration skills into action for Crafty Mart. In addition to admin duties, I'm also working on programming for the upcoming 7th Annual Crafty Mart

I received my Bachelors in Photography from Akron, as well. Photography is where my true passion lies! My ultimate life goal would be to put together a space for local photographers to work and collaborate together as artists. I would love to make this happen in Akron, and make Akron my permanent home.

This fall, I am on the planning committee for the Akron Civic Theatre’s big Halloween bash, The Masque of the Red Death

I am also coordinating a fundraiser event for Ohio Pug Rescue that will hopefully take place in the fall of  2016. I have a pug named Emery (but she goes by Pug!) She one of my most favorite things on this Earth and the reason I am planning the event. I adopted her last winter from a bad puppy mill situation and it has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life.

Along with being a crazy pug lady, I am also a devoted “Aunt Mo” to the most wonderful two year old boy there ever was, Ethan. He is my only nephew so far, so he gets all of my attention and a lot of dinosaur clothing. If I could spend my days cuddling Pug and playing ninja with Ethan, I would be set!
