We're excited to begin our Vendor Spotlights to introduce you to our artisans coming to the 7th Annual Crafty Mart Holiday Show on Saturday and Sunday, November 28th-29th.  This is the first in a series of Vendor Spotlights where we let those who will be sharing their wares shine a light on what it is they do.  The following profile is Nicole from Bellatrix Jewelry and her responses to a mini-questionnaire.

1). What's your name and what is it that you make?

My name is Nicole Neal, owner and artist of Bellatrix Jewelry. I hand forge high quality jewelry using fire, silver and gemstones. Bellatrix means female warrior in Latin.  I use that name because it takes a warrior spirit to hand forge jewelry out of metal, fire and stone. I resonate with how warriors, adorn their bodies with talismans. I believe jewelry has the power to bring good will or ward off negativity, and just make you feel like a warrior rock star!

2). How did you acquire the unique skill set to do what it is you do.

I'm primarily self taught, learning by doing. I've been making jewelry since I was 12, but got crazy serious into it about seven years ago, after taking a wire wrapping workshop at my local bead store.

3).  What is your best seller?

My newer line of gemstone rings and bracelets are popular. The rings sell quickly, I think because when someone connects with a stone, it's like they need it. Women also seem to love anything with the fine silver circles. Circles are so classic, and easy to wear with just about anything

4).  How long have you been vending?

About five years.

Have you done a Crafty Mart show before?

It's my first time! I moved to Cleveland this past December, and since then have felt so embraced by the creative energy of the community. And Crafty Mart is a part of that big CLE hug! I'm so excited!

5). Coffee or tea?

As much as my Capricorn-perfectionist-ex-yoga teacher wants me to say tea, it's coffee. All the way. I freaking love it. There have been a couple nights where I've been excited to go to sleep, just so I can wake up and have coffee. And I'm glad you didn't asks me to pick between Beatles and Rolling Stones. I couldn't.

We hope you're just as excited as we are to welcome Bellatrix Jewelry at Crafty Mart.  Many thanks to Nicole for answering our questions and coming to the 7th Annual Crafty Mart Holiday Show.  We'll see everyone on Sat. & Sun. Nov. 28th-29th at Musica, Akron Art Museum, and Summit Artspace.  You'll be able to locate Bellatrix Jewelry at the Akron Art Museum.
