We hope you're just as excited about this weekend as we are! Here are a few pointers to help you navigate all the awesome stuff we've put together.

1. Visit all three venues.

For the first time ever, Crafty Mart is taking place at three different venues: Musica, the Akron Art Museum, and Summit Artspace!

There is free parking at the library deck, so why not park there for the whole day and then hop on trolley provided by the City of Akron to take you from place to place? Two trolleys will be running all day and stopping every ten minutes at each location!

If you collect a sticker from each location on the back of your program (see below) and turn it in at the Akron Art Museum before you leave, you will be entered in a raffle to win either a free year-long membership to the Akron Art Museum, one of two gift certificates for dinner at The Lockview, or two tickets to see a movie at The Nightlight Cinema along with a sweet Nightlight t-shirt. You can get a program and collect the stickers from volunteers who will be at the entrance to each location.

2. Win stuff!

In addition to having the chance to winning great prizes by visiting all three venues, you can win stuff by participating in the Crafty Mart Auction at Musica! The auction table will be located conveniently in front of the restrooms.

Our vendors have generously donated dozens of gifts to be auctioned off! You can buy a raffle ticket for $1 for your chance to win. All money raised will be used to help with expenses for Crafty Mart to secure their federal non-profit 501c3 status.

The auction will take place both days. Winners will be announced at 4pm both days, and the winner will receive a text message or phone call with instructions on how to claim their prize!

3. Give back.

Helping out Crafty Mart by participating in the auction is just one way to give back. Here are a few other ways you can help out:

Buy a ceramic bowl handcrafted by an Akron Public Schools student from Empty Bowls Akron, and that money will go directly to help the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. They will be set up at Musica. Check out our blog post from last week to learn more!

Visit the Heaven Can Wait table at Summit Artspace and make a purchase to benefit their nonprofit animal rescue efforts!

Donate a coat or some canned goods! Artists of Rubber City are holding a coat and food drive at Summit Artspace! Donation bins will be set up on the first floor next to the mural.

4. Make something.

In the DIY spirit of Crafty Mart, why not make a holiday gift for a loved one? If you aren't already signed up to take a workshop, there are a few still available, including a Perfume Blending Workshop, and a Winter Terrarium Workshop. (See below!) Click here to see all the classes still available!

Syn/Hak, the Akron Maker's Space, is hosting soldering demos throughout the whole event. Stop by their table at Musica and for $5 you can learn the basics.

5. Eat.

Urban Eats at Musica will be serving up their famous pizzas and wraps all throughout the event! The bar at Musica as well as Uncorked Wine Bar open at noon each day. Yum!

At the Akron Art Museum, the Q Cafe will be open both days! They serve snacks, sandwiches, coffee and a fine selection of local craft beers on draft.

After the show, there are plenty of downtown restaurants to choose from. Some of our favorites are The LockviewCrave and Nuevo.

6. Experience some art.

The Akron Art Museum is offering free admission both Saturday and Sunday. While you're doing your shopping, make sure to stop in the galleries. Right now they are featuring the Exhibition Trenton Doyle Hancock: Skin and Bones, 20 Years of Drawingwhich is an engaging experience for both adults and young people no matter what their Art Education background is.

If you need a break from shopping, go see a film! Right in the Crafty Mart footprint is Akron's only indie cinema, The Nightlight. They are located on High Street, just two doors down from We Gallery. To see showtimes, click here. There's only 50 seats in the theater, so you might want to buy tickets ahead of time!

On Saturday night right after Crafty Mart closes down at 5pm, Summit Artspace is hosting the opening reception for their 12th annual Kaleidoscope exhibition. The reception runs until 9pm, and you'll have the chance to mingle with the artists. Click here to learn more.

7. Take advantage of free gift wrapping!

On Saturday, Yelp will be set up in We Gallery just upstairs from Musica offering FREE gift wrapping for your newly acquired gifts!

We can't wait to see everyone this weekend! For more information, check out our Facebook event and make sure to RSVP!
